What causes fences in Oklahoma to fail?
Oklahoma’s wind and clay soil create unique challenges for fences. Posts can lean after repeated gales, and our freeze-thaw cycles rot untreated wood. Even a small hailstorm can crack vinyl or dent metal panels. Over time, gate hinges wear out, and sagging sections become trip hazards. These problems don’t just look bad—they let critters in, reduce privacy, and lower your home’s curb appeal. Left alone, leaning posts will eventually pull out of their footings entirely.
How we fix leaning and broken fences
When your fence leans or breaks, we start by excavating the old footing to check for rot or termite damage. We mix fresh 4000-psi concrete in our wheelbarrow and pour it into 18” deep footings, letting it cure for 48 hours. For rotted posts, we cut out the damaged section and splice in pressure-treated 4x4s, then wrap the joint with waterproof tape. Sagging gates get new galvanized hinges and adjustable brackets to ensure smooth operation. Every repair includes a final inspection—your fence should stand straight through another 50 mph wind warning.

Clay soil expands and contracts with moisture changes, which is why we never just 'tamp down' around a leaning post. Proper repair requires full-depth footings below the frost line. Our 18” deep footings with 6” of gravel base give your fence a stable anchor through Oklahoma’s crazy weather. We use rebar in all new footings for extra strength, and let the concrete cure fully before attaching any boards. This stops the cycle of leaning and rot that plagues patch jobs.
Can rotted fence boards be repaired?
Rotted fence boards don’t just look bad—they compromise the whole structure. We cut out decayed sections of pickets and rails, then replace them with kiln-dried pressure-treated lumber. For chain-link fences, we replace rusted wire and reset posts in fresh concrete. Vinyl fences get damaged panels swapped with UV-resistant stock. We also check for termite damage in the surrounding soil and apply a preventive barrier if needed. Your repair won’t just look good—it’ll last through Oklahoma’s next spring thaw.
What’s included in our fence repair service?
We handle all common fence issues: resetting leaning sections in new concrete footings, replacing rotted posts and pickets, fixing gate alignment, and repairing wind-damaged panels. For wood fences, we use pressure-treated lumber and galvanized hardware. Vinyl and chain-link repairs include matching-color replacements and rust-proof fasteners. We prep the site by clearing debris, checking for underground utilities, and ensuring proper drainage. Our work comes with a clear scope and timeline—we’ll finish your repair this season so you’re ready for next winter’s storms.
Fences fail at the posts
Panels are the part you see and the part that almost never fails first. A leaning fence is a post problem, and post problems start on day one.
Posts set deep enough for Oklahoma wind and clay
Shallow posts in expansive clay move with every wet and dry cycle, and then the wind finishes the job. Depth and footing get sized to the fence height and the soil rather than to whatever is fastest.
Concrete footings, crowned to shed water
Footings get crowned at the top so water runs away from the post instead of pooling against it. Standing water at the base is what rots wood posts and rusts steel ones.
Gates built to keep swinging
Gates are the moving part and the part that gets abused. They get braced against sag and hung on hardware sized for the weight, so the gate still latches next year.
Lines and heights confirmed before digging
Property line, slope, and utility locates get sorted out before a hole goes in the ground. It is a lot cheaper to move a line on paper than after the concrete is set.

It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.
- Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
- We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
- Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
- The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
- The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We come out, look at the work, and give you a written price at no charge. You are not signed up for anything by asking.
We do not publish flat prices because no two jobs are the same. Square footage, materials, access, and what we find behind the walls all change the number. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and we will come out and price your actual job.
Small repairs can often be fit in within a few days. Larger remodels start once the estimate is approved and materials are in. Call or text and we will give you a real date rather than a guess.
Yes. Jimmy Garces Jr. is on the job, not just at the sales call. That is also why we can handle several trades on one project instead of handing you off between companies.
The Oklahoma City metro plus about an hour's drive in any direction: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Yukon, Mustang, Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, Warr Acres and the smaller towns around them. If you are past that ring, call or text anyway. A job can still be worth the drive.
Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.
Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.
Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
