Home Remodeling and Repair in Warr Acres, OK

Shekinah Renovations covers Warr Acres for remodeling and home repair: bathrooms and walk-in showers, kitchens, tile, flooring, drywall, mud and texture, interior and exterior paint, concrete, fencing, roofing, windows and carpentry. The 1950s and 1960s homes here need work that is done properly rather than covered up, and that is how we do it. Free estimates from owner Jimmy Garces Jr. Call or text (405) 532-3348.

What We See in Warr Acres Homes

Warr Acres is a compact city on the northwest side of the metro, built out mainly in the 1950s and 1960s around the Putnam City schools and the NW 63rd Street and MacArthur Boulevard corridors. The typical house is a single story brick home of modest size with the original bathroom, a small kitchen, hardwood or tile under later carpet, and hand applied wall texture that has been painted many times. Windows are often original or replaced once with builder grade units that have failed seals. The work here is practical: update the bathroom, open up and modernize the kitchen, replace failed flooring, repair the drywall correctly, repaint, and deal with the concrete and roofing that have aged out. Solid houses, worth the investment.

Bathroom and Kitchen Remodeling

Bathrooms are the job we are called for most in Warr Acres. The original bath in one of these homes usually has a steel tub, a tiled or fiberglass surround, a small vanity and a subfloor that has been quietly taking on water at the toilet for years. We tear the room out completely, replace the damaged framing and subfloor, update valves and supply lines while the walls are open, waterproof correctly, and tile a new shower or tub surround. Walk-in showers and tub-to-shower conversions are the most requested version. Kitchens run from replacing flooring and adding a tile backsplash to new cabinetry, counters, lighting and the plumbing and electrical that follows a layout change. We finish with our own drywall, texture and paint so the room is done when we leave.

Drywall, Texture, Flooring, and Paint

A lot of what we do in Warr Acres is the unglamorous interior work that makes a house feel maintained. Repairing drywall after a leak, replacing a water damaged section of ceiling, floating walls flat where old repairs have left them wavy, and matching the existing texture so the fix disappears. Then flooring, whether that is tile, luxury vinyl plank or refinishing what is already under the carpet, and then paint on walls, ceilings, trim and doors. Because Jimmy does the drywall, mud and texture himself, the finish work is consistent from room to room. Interior painting, exterior painting, trim carpentry, window installation and general woodwork all come from the same crew, so a whole house refresh does not require coordinating four separate contractors.

Concrete, Fencing, and Exterior Work

Original driveways and sidewalks in Warr Acres have been through decades of Oklahoma clay movement, and by now most have cracked through, settled at the approach, or lifted where a tree root found them. We tear out and repour driveways, sidewalks, porches, patios and steps with proper base preparation and control joints placed where they belong. We also pour new patios with decorative finishes when a homeowner wants outdoor space that looks intentional, and reseal concrete that is still sound. On the rest of the exterior we replace and repair wood fencing after wind, handle roofing, gutters, soffit and fascia after hail, and take care of the exterior painting and rotted trim that usually needs attention at the same time.

Where We Work in Warr Acres

We drive out to Warr Acres and the surrounding OKC metro from our base in Oklahoma City, and our range runs about an hour past the metro in any direction. There is no shop to visit, we come to the property.

The part you cannot see is the part that fails

Nearly every complaint we hear about a previous contractor is about something underneath: prep that got skipped, waterproofing that was never there, a texture nobody matched. Those are the parts that decide whether work is still good in ten years.

  • Prep gets the time it needs

Base compaction under concrete, subfloor repair under flooring, surface prep under paint, waterproofing behind tile. It is the invisible half of every trade and the half that decides how long the visible half lasts.

  • One person is accountable start to finish

Jimmy does the walkthrough, writes the estimate, and is on site while the work happens. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson, a scheduler, and a crew who never spoke to you.

  • Surprises reach you before they become line items

Rotted subfloor, a hidden leak, wiring that is not to code. When we find something, work stops and you get a call with what it is and what it costs before we touch it.

  • The site is clean when we leave

Debris hauled off, floors swept, the room put back. The job is finished when you cannot tell we were there except for the work.

Letting someone you found online into your house

It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.

  • Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
  • We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
  • Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
  • The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
  • The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

Yes. Window installation, trim carpentry and general woodwork run through the same crew as the drywall, tile and paint, so a whole-house refresh does not require coordinating several contractors on separate schedules.

No. Estimates are free everywhere we work, including Warr Acres. Jimmy comes out, looks at the job, measures what needs measuring, and gives you a written price. There is no fee and no obligation to hire us afterward.

It depends entirely on the size of the space, the materials you pick, and what we find once we open things up. That is why we look at the job in person before quoting. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and we will come out to Warr Acres and put a real number in front of you.

Both. We do full kitchen and bathroom remodels, and we also patch drywall, fix a leaking valve, hang a TV, pour a small pad, tear out one wall, or repaint one room. If it is on the list of things we do, the job is not too small to call or text about.

That depends on what is already on the schedule and how big the job is. Small repairs often happen within a few days. Larger remodels get scheduled once the estimate is approved and materials are ordered. Call or text and we will tell you honestly where we are.

Yes, anything and everything. Inside: demolition, drywall, texture, paint, flooring, tile, bathrooms, kitchens, trim, and carpentry. Outside: concrete, roofing, fencing, landscaping, and window installation. Most Warr Acres jobs end up being a mix of both, and one crew handles the whole thing.

Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.

Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.

Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
