Cabinet Painting & Refinishing in Oklahoma City & Metro Suburbs
Old cabinets can drag down your home’s energy. We revive them with factory-like finishes that stand up to Oklahoma’s humidity and temperature swings. No more chipping or flaking—just smooth, durable enamel that looks custom and costs a fraction of replacement.

What’s the Process for Cabinet Painting & Refinishing?
We start with degreasing and sanding each cabinet surface to bare wood, which is critical for adhesion. Two coats of high-build primer seal the grain, followed by two sprayed finish coats in your chosen color. Our enamel resists stains from coffee, wine, and Oklahoma’s hard water. We also install new hardware—pulls, knobs, hinges—to modernize the look. This method avoids the mess of demolition and ensures your existing cabinets last 10+ years with proper care.
How Do Durable Enamel Finishes Hold Up in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma’s climate—extreme heat, cold snaps, and sudden humidity shifts—can crack low-quality paints. Our commercial-grade enamel is formulated for thermal expansion, meaning it won’t blister when your kitchen goes from 35°F winter to 95°F summer. We use a baking process (curing at 250°F) to harden the finish, making it scratch-resistant for homes with kids or pets. This is the same material used in Oklahoma City restaurants and offices for long-term durability.

Replacing cabinets means tearing out existing structures, which risks damaging walls or flooring. Refinishing preserves your cabinetry’s original frame while giving it a fresh look. For a mid-sized kitchen, this saves 60-70% compared to new custom cabinets. We also avoid the 3-6 month wait for manufactured products. Your project can start the same week we complete your free estimate—no lead times, no guesswork.
Can You Update Cabinet Hardware as Part of the Project?
Yes—we install new soft-close hinges, drawer slides, and lever-style handles during the refinishing process. Upgrading hardware is an easy add-on while the doors are already off, but it’s optional. If you prefer your existing hardware, we’ll protect it during prep and painting. Our team handles every detail, from color matching to aligning pulls for a uniform look. No need to hire separate installers.
What Makes Shekinah’s Cabinet Painting Different?
We work on tools daily, not just in offices. Our team sands every edge by hand first to avoid rounding corners, then uses spray guns for a factory-smooth finish. We don’t ‘brush on’ paint and call it a day. This attention to detail means no orange peel texture or uneven sheen. With 5-star Yelp reviews from Edmond and Norman clients, we focus on problem-solving—like reinforcing warping shelves during the process. Book your free estimate this week to start.
Paint fails at prep, not at the paint
When a paint job looks bad in two years, the cause is almost never the product on the wall. It is what happened, or did not happen, before the first coat.
Surfaces cleaned, patched, and caulked first
Dust, chalking, and old caulk that has pulled away all keep paint from bonding. That prep is the slow, unglamorous part of the job and it is the part that decides how long the finish lasts.
Primer where primer is called for
Bare drywall, patched areas, raw wood, stains, and big color changes get primed. Not every wall needs it, and we will tell you which ones do rather than charging for a coat that does nothing.
Cut lines done by hand
Clean lines at ceilings, trim, and corners come from a steady hand and a good brush. It is the detail people actually look at once the furniture is back.
Exterior work timed to the weather
Oklahoma heat, wind, and humidity all affect how coatings cure. Painting a hot surface in direct sun or beating a storm front is how exteriors end up peeling early, so exterior work gets scheduled around conditions.

It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.
- Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
- We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
- Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
- The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
- The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We come out, look at the work, and give you a written price at no charge. You are not signed up for anything by asking.
We do not publish flat prices because no two jobs are the same. Square footage, materials, access, and what we find behind the walls all change the number. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and we will come out and price your actual job.
Small repairs can often be fit in within a few days. Larger remodels start once the estimate is approved and materials are in. Call or text and we will give you a real date rather than a guess.
Yes. Jimmy Garces Jr. is on the job, not just at the sales call. That is also why we can handle several trades on one project instead of handing you off between companies.
The Oklahoma City metro plus about an hour's drive in any direction: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Yukon, Mustang, Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, Warr Acres and the smaller towns around them. If you are past that ring, call or text anyway. A job can still be worth the drive.
Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.
Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.
Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
