Shekinah Renovations LLC · Service
Painting Contractor Serving Oklahoma City
Shekinah Renovations LLC paints houses across the Oklahoma City metro, inside and out. Paint is the cheapest way to change how a house feels and the easiest place for a contractor to cut corners, because almost all of the work that determines how long it lasts happens before the first coat goes on. Owner Jimmy Garces Jr. preps, patches, caulks and paints. Free estimates. Call or text (405) 532-3348.
Interior and Exterior Painting
[Interior painting](/services/interior-painting) covers walls, ceilings, trim, doors, cabinets and accent work, and pairs naturally with [drywall and texture](/services/drywall-and-texture) repair since patched areas have to be textured to match before they can be painted invisibly. [Exterior painting](/services/exterior-painting) covers siding, trim, soffit and fascia, doors, shutters, garage doors and porch ceilings, and in central Oklahoma it is as much a maintenance job as a cosmetic one, because sun, wind driven rain and big temperature swings are constantly working on the exterior envelope of the house.
Prep Is Ninety Percent of the Job
Paint fails because of what is under it, not because of the color. Inside, that means filling nail pops and cracks, sanding patches flat, texturing repairs to match the surrounding wall, caulking trim gaps, cleaning greasy kitchen walls so paint can bond, and priming stains and bare patches so they do not bleed through. Outside, it means washing off chalking and dirt, scraping and sanding failing paint, replacing rotted trim rather than caulking over it, priming bare wood, and sealing the joints where water gets in. A crew that shows up and starts rolling on day one is not saving you money, they are borrowing time from the finish.
Sheen, Color and Product Choice
Sheen is a practical decision more than a style one. Flat and matte hide wall imperfection and are right for ceilings and low traffic walls. Eggshell and satin clean up better and suit hallways, kitchens and kids rooms. Semi-gloss goes on trim, doors and cabinets where you need durability and a wipeable surface. On exteriors, a quality one hundred percent acrylic holds color and flexes with the substrate through temperature swings far better than a cheap paint, and the extra cost is small relative to the labor it protects. We will sample colors on your actual wall in your actual light before committing a whole room.
Working Clean in an Occupied House
Most of our painting happens in houses that people are living in. That means floors and furniture covered, trim taped or cut in by hand, doors and hardware handled properly rather than painted around, and the work area cleaned up at the end of each day instead of at the end of the project. Paint that gets on something that is not supposed to be painted gets fixed before we leave. Room order is planned with you so you are never without a bathroom or a bedroom, and the whole job gets a punch walk at the end where you point out anything you want touched up.
Free Painting Estimates in the Metro
Painting estimates depend on square footage, ceiling height, how much patching and prep the surfaces need, the number of colors, and whether trim and ceilings are included. Jimmy will walk the house with you and give you a free written estimate that says exactly what is being painted and what prep is included. Serving [Oklahoma City](/locations/oklahoma-city), [Edmond](/locations/edmond), [Norman](/locations/norman), [Moore](/locations/moore) and the rest of the metro. Call or text (405) 532-3348 or use the [estimate form](/book).
Paint fails at prep, not at the paint
When a paint job looks bad in two years, the cause is almost never the product on the wall. It is what happened, or did not happen, before the first coat.
Surfaces cleaned, patched, and caulked first
Dust, chalking, and old caulk that has pulled away all keep paint from bonding. That prep is the slow, unglamorous part of the job and it is the part that decides how long the finish lasts.
Primer where primer is called for
Bare drywall, patched areas, raw wood, stains, and big color changes get primed. Not every wall needs it, and we will tell you which ones do rather than charging for a coat that does nothing.
Cut lines done by hand
Clean lines at ceilings, trim, and corners come from a steady hand and a good brush. It is the detail people actually look at once the furniture is back.
Exterior work timed to the weather
Oklahoma heat, wind, and humidity all affect how coatings cure. Painting a hot surface in direct sun or beating a storm front is how exteriors end up peeling early, so exterior work gets scheduled around conditions.

Letting someone you found online into your house
It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.
- Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
- We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
- Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
- The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
- The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most of it. Patching, sanding, texture matching, caulking, cleaning greasy surfaces and priming stains and bare spots are what determine how long the finish lasts. A crew that starts rolling on day one is borrowing time from the finish.

Spring and fall are the most reliable windows, because paint needs surface temperature and humidity inside the product range. We watch the forecast rather than pushing a coat on ahead of a storm.

Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.
Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.
Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
