Drywall Installation in Oklahoma City & Metro Suburbs
A smooth, seamless wall finish can transform a space—from a rough basement to a polished addition. Whether you’re expanding your garage, finishing a basement, or remodeling a room, drywall needs to hang straight, tape tight, and texture right to blend with your home. We handle the full process so your walls are ready for paint, with no cracks or bumps to distract from your new space.

What’s included in a full drywall installation?
We start with 5/8” sheetrock for durability, cut and hung to fit your walls and ceilings. Joints are taped with fiberglass mesh and bedded in joint compound for a flat surface. After sanding smooth, we apply a texture finish that matches your existing walls—whether it’s a knockdown, orange peel, or flat skim coat. This ensures your new space blends seamlessly with the rest of your home. For high-moisture areas like bathrooms or basements, we use moisture-resistant drywall and green board where needed. Every cut, tape line, and texture pass is checked twice to avoid callbacks.
How do you ensure a seamless finish in Oklahoma homes?
Oklahoma’s shifting clay soil and temperature swings can stress walls, causing cracks if drywall isn’t properly prepped. We use expansion clips at ceiling-wall junctions and cut joints away from high-stress areas to prevent future cracks. For texture matching, we test samples under your home’s lighting to find a perfect match before committing. Our crews sand by hand in tight corners and use wide orbital sanders for large areas, then prime the surface to seal the texture and prepare for paint. The result? Walls that look like they’ve always been there.

We specify US Gypsum brand sheetrock for consistent quality and use pre-mixed joint compound that resists cracking. For texture, we stick with acrylic-based compounds that hold up to Oklahoma’s humidity swings. All materials are stored indoors before use to prevent warping. In garages or workshops, we reinforce corners and doorways with metal corner beads to withstand dings. Our process includes a final walk-through with you to check for alignment, texture consistency, and any touchpoints that need extra protection.
Why choose local drywall pros for your Oklahoma City project?
We work in your neighborhood—Edmond, Norman, Yukon, or Midwest City—so we understand local building practices and weather challenges. Our crews pre-dry mud in layers to prevent shrinkage cracks common in Oklahoma’s dry winters. For homes with popcorn ceilings, we can remove and replace them in the same project. We coordinate with your other trades (plumbers, electricians) to schedule around their work, so your project stays on timeline. No subcontracts, no middlemen—just hands-on work from our team.
Can you handle drywall in unfinished spaces like basements?
Yes. For unfinished basements, we install green board on walls and moisture-resistant ceiling tiles where needed. We cut around HVAC ducts and electrical boxes cleanly, then texture to hide seams. In unfinished garages, we use thicker 5/8” board and metal reinforcement at car door openings. Our process includes sealing all joints with acoustic caulk to reduce noise transfer from above. Whether it’s a playroom under the house or a workshop in the garage, we finish it like it belongs.
Why you can usually spot a drywall patch
The most common complaint about drywall work in this market is that the repair sticks out like a sore thumb. Almost always that is texture, light, and compound, in that order.
The texture gets matched to your wall
Knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, and hand texture all read differently once daylight rakes across them. Matching means looking at the existing wall and reproducing it, not spraying whatever is quickest and hoping paint hides the difference.
Compound chosen for the job
Lightweight premix is fine for a skim coat and wrong for a deep fill. Heavier fills get a setting compound that hardens chemically instead of by drying, so the patch does not shrink back and telegraph a ring through the paint six months later.
Settling cracks get treated as movement, not as holes
A crack that came from the house shifting will come back if it is only filled. Those get taped so the joint can hold, because filler alone in a moving joint is a repair with an expiration date.
Feathered wide and checked under light
Joints get feathered out far enough that the transition disappears, then checked with a light held flat against the wall before primer. That is the step that separates a patch you cannot find from one you can.

It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.
- Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
- We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
- Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
- The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
- The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We come out, look at the work, and give you a written price at no charge. You are not signed up for anything by asking.
We do not publish flat prices because no two jobs are the same. Square footage, materials, access, and what we find behind the walls all change the number. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and we will come out and price your actual job.
Small repairs can often be fit in within a few days. Larger remodels start once the estimate is approved and materials are in. Call or text and we will give you a real date rather than a guess.
Yes. Jimmy Garces Jr. is on the job, not just at the sales call. That is also why we can handle several trades on one project instead of handing you off between companies.
The Oklahoma City metro plus about an hour's drive in any direction: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Yukon, Mustang, Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, Warr Acres and the smaller towns around them. If you are past that ring, call or text anyway. A job can still be worth the drive.
Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.
Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.
Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
