New Drywall, Additions and Remodels
New sheetrock goes up on remodels, garage conversions, added walls, ceilings that came down for plumbing or electrical work, and any room that got opened up. Board is hung with the joints planned to fall in the least conspicuous places, screwed at the correct spacing, and moisture resistant board is used in wet areas with the appropriate backer behind tile. Taping and finishing runs through the normal sequence of tape coat, fill coat and skim coat with sanding between, and the level of finish is matched to what is going on top of it, since a wall getting a heavy texture needs a different finish level than one getting flat sheen paint on a smooth surface.
Texture Matching Is the Real Skill
Oklahoma houses are mostly textured, and the common ones are knockdown, orange peel, splatter and hand-troweled patterns, with a lot of older ceilings still carrying popcorn. Matching an existing texture is the difference between a repair you cannot find and one you notice from the doorway every day. It takes reading the existing pattern, mixing mud to the right consistency, setting the spray or the trowel to match the size and density of the pattern, and testing on a scrap board before touching the wall. Why Metro Houses Crack
Hairline cracks running diagonally from the corners of doors and windows, seams opening at wall and ceiling intersections, and nail pops down the line of a stud are extremely common in central Oklahoma, and the cause is usually the same: the expansive clay soil under the foundation moves seasonally and the framing moves with it, while drywall and its fasteners do not stretch. A patch that just fills the crack will crack again in the same place. Doing it right means cutting the crack out, taping across the joint so the tape carries the movement, floating wide enough to hide the buildup, then texturing and painting to match.
Water Damage and Ceiling Repairs
Water damaged drywall does not get painted over. It gets cut out back to sound material, the source gets identified and stopped, the cavity gets dried, then new board goes in and gets finished and textured. Sagging ceilings, popped ceiling seams and drywall that has separated from the framing get refastened to structure before finishing. The most common complaint about drywall work in this market is that the repair sticks out like a sore thumb. Almost always that is texture, light, and compound, in that order.
The texture gets matched to your wall
Knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, and hand texture all read differently once daylight rakes across them. Matching means looking at the existing wall and reproducing it, not spraying whatever is quickest and hoping paint hides the difference.
Compound chosen for the job
Lightweight premix is fine for a skim coat and wrong for a deep fill. Heavier fills get a setting compound that hardens chemically instead of by drying, so the patch does not shrink back and telegraph a ring through the paint six months later.
Settling cracks get treated as movement, not as holes
A crack that came from the house shifting will come back if it is only filled. Those get taped so the joint can hold, because filler alone in a moving joint is a repair with an expiration date.

For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.
