Small Bathroom Remodels in the Oklahoma City Metro

A cramped bathroom doesn’t mean a cramped future. We reshape small and half-baths into functional, light-filled spaces using layouts that cheat the square footage. From sloped shower drains to vapor barriers on Oklahoma’s clay soil, we handle the details so your remodel lasts through heat, hail, and freeze-thaw cycles.

Why Choose Space-Smart Designs?

Small bathrooms demand clever solutions. We use floating vanities to free floor space, frameless glass showers to cut visual clutter, and LED mirrors to amplify light. Every layout starts with your daily routine—where you store towels, how you shower, if you need grab bars. We avoid unnecessary wall moves but can reconfigure plumbing if needed. The goal: a bathroom that feels bigger without sacrificing storage or durability.

What Materials Work Best for Oklahoma Bathrooms?

Oklahoma’s humidity and sudden temperature swings mean cheap materials fail fast. We specify porcelain tile (not ceramic) for moisture resistance, quartz countertops for non-porous surfaces, and sealed grout to prevent mold. Shower pans get extra-thick mortar beds to handle clay soil shifts. Even caulk gets 100% silicone for long-term flexibility. These choices keep your remodel intact through Oklahoma’s weather extremes.

How Do We Maximize Small Spaces?

We start by auditing every inch. A 32-inch walk-in shower can fit a handheld showerhead and seat without feeling tight. Sliding barn doors save 18 inches of swing space compared to traditional doors. Taller vanity cabinets store cleaning supplies out of sight. We also use warm-neutral tile tones to create visual continuity—dark colors swallow small rooms, light ones open them up. Every decision balances function with Oklahoma’s practical needs.

Can We Avoid Moving Walls?

Most small-bath upgrades work within existing walls. We reconfigure fixtures by shifting toilets 6-12 inches if needed, but only after checking sewer line angles. Moving walls risks cracking drywall later from Oklahoma’s soil movement. If you want a full bathtub, we’ll assess if a tub-to-shower conversion makes more sense. Our inspections include checking electrical boxes, water lines, and floor joists before finalizing plans.

Why Trust a Local Contractor?

We’ve built homes and remodeled bathrooms from Edmond to Midwest City. That means we know how to prep for 90 mph wind days, install tile that won’t crack in 30-degree freezes, and design layouts that work with Oklahoma’s standard 8-foot garage door heights. You’ll meet the crew who does the work—no middlemen. We show up with tools for the job, not promises we can’t keep.

A shower fails behind the tile, not on it

Tile is the finish. Whether a bathroom is still sound in ten years is decided by the layers nobody ever sees, and by whether anyone bothered to lay the job out before cutting.

  • Backer board set in mortar and screwed down

Cement board over a subfloor needs a bed of mortar under it and to be fastened properly. Screwed down over an air gap, it flexes, and flex is what cracks grout and tile later.

  • Waterproofing behind the surface

Seams, corners, and changes of plane are where water gets in. Those get waterproofed before tile goes on. A shower that was never waterproofed can look perfect and still be rotting the wall behind it.

  • The layout gets planned before the first cut

Niches lined up to the tile joints, full tiles where the eye lands, and cuts pushed to the edges. A niche that was cut in as an afterthought is obvious forever, and it is the detail people complain about most.

  • Slope, drain, and grout done to spec

Pans get sloped to the drain so water actually leaves. Grout and sealant get the right product for a wet area, and the joints get the cure time they need before the shower goes back into use.

Letting someone you found online into your house

It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.

  • Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
  • We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
  • Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
  • The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
  • The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We come out, look at the work, and give you a written price at no charge. You are not signed up for anything by asking.

We do not publish flat prices because no two jobs are the same. Square footage, materials, access, and what we find behind the walls all change the number. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and we will come out and price your actual job.

Small repairs can often be fit in within a few days. Larger remodels start once the estimate is approved and materials are in. Call or text and we will give you a real date rather than a guess.

Yes. Jimmy Garces Jr. is on the job, not just at the sales call. That is also why we can handle several trades on one project instead of handing you off between companies.

The Oklahoma City metro plus about an hour's drive in any direction: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Yukon, Mustang, Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, Warr Acres and the smaller towns around them. If you are past that ring, call or text anyway. A job can still be worth the drive.

Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.

Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.

Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
