Home Additions & Room Additions in Bethany, Oklahoma
Bethany families often love their street, their trees and their neighbors more than they love their square footage. A room addition solves that without giving up the neighborhood. Shekinah Renovations builds additions on Bethany's mid-century homes from the footing up: foundation, framing, roof tie-in, the plumbing and electrical the new space needs, then drywall, paint and flooring that make it read as part of the original house. Estimates are free. Call or text (405) 532-3348.

Additions That Match a Mid-Century House
The difference between an addition and a box stuck on the back of a house is in the matching: brick that belongs next to sixty-year-old brick, a roofline that continues instead of colliding, windows with proportions the rest of the house already uses, and interior floors that meet without a step or a threshold ramp. Bethany's ranches have a consistent, honest style that is easy to respect and easy to ruin. We plan the tie-in points — roof, brick ledge, floor height, hallway connection — before anything else, because those details decide whether the finished addition looks original or obvious.
Foundations on Bethany's Clay
An addition is only as good as what it sits on, and central Oklahoma's expansive clay is unforgiving of shortcuts. The new footing has to behave like the old one or the seam between house and addition becomes a crack factory: doors that bind, drywall that splits, brick that steps. We dig to appropriate depth for the soil, reinforce the slab properly, and pay attention to drainage around the new foundation, because water management is what actually protects a slab on this clay. Where the existing house sits on piers, the addition's floor system is designed to meet it at exactly the same height.

The most common Bethany additions are a primary suite on homes that never had one, a second bathroom for a one-bath house, and a family room that gives the original living room back to the front of the house. Because we run the trades ourselves, the bathroom plumbing, the new circuits, the HVAC extension and the finish work are all one scope instead of four contractors pointing at each other. If the project grows into updating the rest of the house, home remodeling in Bethany and kitchen remodeling can fold into the same plan.
Permits, Setbacks and Smaller Lots
Bethany is its own city with its own permit process, and its older plats often have smaller lots and tighter setbacks than the newer suburbs, which shapes what can be built and where. That is a design constraint, not a dead end: side-yard bump-outs, rear additions and converting attached garage space all stay on the table depending on the lot. We measure the real setbacks during the estimate visit and design inside them, so the plan that gets priced is a plan that can actually be approved and built.
Start With a Free Estimate
Call or text (405) 532-3348 or send the idea through the estimate form with a few photos of the house and yard. Jimmy walks the property in Bethany or Warr Acres, talks through what the lot and the house will support, and puts a written scope and estimate in your hands for free. Nothing gets ordered and nothing gets dug until you have agreed to both.
The part you cannot see is the part that fails
Nearly every complaint we hear about a previous contractor is about something underneath: prep that got skipped, waterproofing that was never there, a texture nobody matched. Those are the parts that decide whether work is still good in ten years.
Prep gets the time it needs
Base compaction under concrete, subfloor repair under flooring, surface prep under paint, waterproofing behind tile. It is the invisible half of every trade and the half that decides how long the visible half lasts.
One person is accountable start to finish
Jimmy does the walkthrough, writes the estimate, and is on site while the work happens. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson, a scheduler, and a crew who never spoke to you.
Surprises reach you before they become line items
Rotted subfloor, a hidden leak, wiring that is not to code. When we find something, work stops and you get a call with what it is and what it costs before we touch it.
The site is clean when we leave
Debris hauled off, floors swept, the room put back. The job is finished when you cannot tell we were there except for the work.
Letting someone you found online into your house
It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.
- Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
- We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
- Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
- The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
- The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We come out, look at the work, and give you a written price at no charge. You are not signed up for anything by asking.
We do not publish flat prices because no two jobs are the same. Square footage, materials, access, and what we find behind the walls all change the number. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and we will come out and price your actual job.
Small repairs can often be fit in within a few days. Larger remodels start once the estimate is approved and materials are in. Call or text and we will give you a real date rather than a guess.
Yes. Jimmy Garces Jr. is on the job, not just at the sales call. That is also why we can handle several trades on one project instead of handing you off between companies.
The Oklahoma City metro plus about an hour's drive in any direction: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Yukon, Mustang, Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, Warr Acres and the smaller towns around them. If you are past that ring, call or text anyway. A job can still be worth the drive.
Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.
Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.
Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
