Home Remodeling in Bethany, Oklahoma
Bethany is one of the oldest suburbs in the metro, and its housing shows it in the best way: solid mid-century ranches on mature, tree-lined streets between NW 23rd and the Route 66 corridor on NW 39th. Shekinah Renovations remodels these homes with respect for how they were built. Owner Jimmy Garces Jr. handles the whole scope personally, from tear-out through drywall, tile, paint and flooring, so one contractor is accountable for the finished result. Estimates are free. Call or text (405) 532-3348.

Remodeling Bethany's Mid-Century Homes
Most of Bethany went up between the 1940s and the 1970s, which means closed-off kitchens, smaller bathrooms, low ceilings in some additions, and finishes that have been painted over a dozen times. That age is not a problem, it is an opportunity: the bones are usually better than what gets built today, and the floor plans respond well to opening a wall or two. A remodel in a home of this era starts with finding out what is actually behind the surfaces before committing to a design, because galvanized supply lines, cast iron drains and older wiring are common in the neighborhood and are far cheaper to address while the walls are already open than after the new tile is up.
What a Whole-Home or Single-Room Remodel Includes
Some Bethany homeowners want one room done right, others want the whole interior brought forward a few decades. Either way the sequence is the same: a free walkthrough and written estimate, careful demolition, the plumbing and electrical changes the new layout needs, then drywall and texture, tile, cabinets, counters, paint and flooring, finished with a punch walk where anything that bothers you gets fixed. Kitchen remodeling in Bethany and bathroom remodeling are the two most requested projects, and home additions come up often on the smaller lots where families need another bedroom rather than another house.

The red clay under Bethany swells when it rains and shrinks in the summer heat, and sixty-year-old slabs and pier-and-beam floors have had a long time to move with it. Doors that stick seasonally, hairline cracks above door frames and a floor with a gentle slope are normal in the neighborhood, and a good remodel works with that reality: floors get leveled where it matters, expansion gaps are respected on new plank flooring, and we tell you honestly when a crack is cosmetic and when it is worth a closer look before spending money on finishes over it.
One Contractor From Demolition to Paint
Juggling a drywall crew, a tile setter, a painter and a floor installer on one project is how remodels stall. Shekinah Renovations keeps the trades under one roof: demolition, drywall and texture, tile, painting, flooring and the carpentry that ties it together. You get one schedule, one point of contact, and one person who owns the seams between trades, which is where most remodels go sideways.
Free Estimates in Bethany and Warr Acres
We work across Bethany and neighboring Warr Acres regularly; they are minutes from jobs we already run across the northwest side of the metro. Call or text (405) 532-3348, or send photos of the space through the estimate form. You will get a straight answer about whether what you want is a weekend-scale fix or a real remodel, and a written estimate before anything is torn out.
The part you cannot see is the part that fails
Nearly every complaint we hear about a previous contractor is about something underneath: prep that got skipped, waterproofing that was never there, a texture nobody matched. Those are the parts that decide whether work is still good in ten years.
Prep gets the time it needs
Base compaction under concrete, subfloor repair under flooring, surface prep under paint, waterproofing behind tile. It is the invisible half of every trade and the half that decides how long the visible half lasts.
One person is accountable start to finish
Jimmy does the walkthrough, writes the estimate, and is on site while the work happens. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson, a scheduler, and a crew who never spoke to you.
Surprises reach you before they become line items
Rotted subfloor, a hidden leak, wiring that is not to code. When we find something, work stops and you get a call with what it is and what it costs before we touch it.
The site is clean when we leave
Debris hauled off, floors swept, the room put back. The job is finished when you cannot tell we were there except for the work.
Letting someone you found online into your house
It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.
- Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
- We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
- Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
- The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
- The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We come out, look at the work, and give you a written price at no charge. You are not signed up for anything by asking.
We do not publish flat prices because no two jobs are the same. Square footage, materials, access, and what we find behind the walls all change the number. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and we will come out and price your actual job.
Small repairs can often be fit in within a few days. Larger remodels start once the estimate is approved and materials are in. Call or text and we will give you a real date rather than a guess.
Yes. Jimmy Garces Jr. is on the job, not just at the sales call. That is also why we can handle several trades on one project instead of handing you off between companies.
The Oklahoma City metro plus about an hour's drive in any direction: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Yukon, Mustang, Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, Warr Acres and the smaller towns around them. If you are past that ring, call or text anyway. A job can still be worth the drive.
Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.
Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.
Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
