Home Remodeling in Moore, Oklahoma
Moore's houses range from 1970s ranches to post-2013 rebuilds, and the town knows better than anywhere in the metro what weather can do to a home. Shekinah Renovations remodels Moore homes with that history in mind: solid work, honest scoping, and construction details chosen because they hold up, not because they photograph well. Owner Jimmy Garces Jr. runs every job personally. Estimates are free. Call or text (405) 532-3348.

Remodeling Along the I-35 Corridor
Moore grew in waves, and each wave left its own housing: 1970s and 80s ranches with closed floor plans and original kitchens, 90s and 2000s builder subdivisions due for their first real update, and newer homes rebuilt after the storms with modern layouts. The remodel each one needs is different, which is why every project here starts with a walkthrough instead of a package price. Whether it is opening a wall in an older ranch or replacing builder-grade finishes in a newer one, the scope gets written for your house.
Storm-Aware Construction Choices
Nobody in Moore needs a lecture about severe weather. What a remodel can do is make the next hail and wind season less expensive: when a project opens walls or ceilings anyway, fastening and bracing can be upgraded beyond the minimum, and if a safe room or storm shelter is in your plans, the time to frame and pour for one is while the related work is already open. We also handle the interior side of storm recovery — drywall and texture, paint, flooring — when a repair turns into the remodel you had been putting off anyway.

The kitchen and the primary bathroom are where Moore remodels concentrate, because they are where daily life concentrates. A kitchen remodel here usually means new cabinets or refacing, quartz or granite counters, tile backsplash and real lighting; a bathroom remodel ranges from a straightforward tub-to-shower conversion to a full gut with new tile and a properly built, single-system waterproofing job underneath it. One contractor runs the whole sequence, so the project does not stall between trades.
Honest Answers About Moore's Slabs and Soil
Moore shares the metro's expansive clay, and its older slabs have been moving with it for fifty years. Seasonal cracks above doors and floors that are not quite level are normal here; our job during scoping is to tell you which of those are cosmetic and which deserve attention before new finishes go over them. That honesty occasionally costs us a line item on the estimate. It also means the work we do stays looking the way it did on the day we finished.
Free Estimates in Moore and Norman
We work across Moore, Norman, Del City and south Oklahoma City. Call or text (405) 532-3348, or send photos of the space through the estimate form. You will get a straight answer about whether the job is a repair, a refresh or a remodel — and a written estimate, free, before anything is committed.
The part you cannot see is the part that fails
Nearly every complaint we hear about a previous contractor is about something underneath: prep that got skipped, waterproofing that was never there, a texture nobody matched. Those are the parts that decide whether work is still good in ten years.
Prep gets the time it needs
Base compaction under concrete, subfloor repair under flooring, surface prep under paint, waterproofing behind tile. It is the invisible half of every trade and the half that decides how long the visible half lasts.
One person is accountable start to finish
Jimmy does the walkthrough, writes the estimate, and is on site while the work happens. Nothing gets lost between a salesperson, a scheduler, and a crew who never spoke to you.
Surprises reach you before they become line items
Rotted subfloor, a hidden leak, wiring that is not to code. When we find something, work stops and you get a call with what it is and what it costs before we touch it.
The site is clean when we leave
Debris hauled off, floors swept, the room put back. The job is finished when you cannot tell we were there except for the work.
Letting someone you found online into your house
It is a fair thing to be careful about, and we would rather answer it straight than talk around it. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company name. Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since.
- Every photo and video on this site is Jimmy's own work around the OKC metro. None of it is stock.
- We will put you in touch with people we have done work for. Ask on the walkthrough.
- Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. Where a trade is licensed, we say so and bring in the right partner.
- The estimate is free and written down. You know the number, and the scope, before anything starts.
- The person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. We come out, look at the work, and give you a written price at no charge. You are not signed up for anything by asking.
We do not publish flat prices because no two jobs are the same. Square footage, materials, access, and what we find behind the walls all change the number. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and we will come out and price your actual job.
Small repairs can often be fit in within a few days. Larger remodels start once the estimate is approved and materials are in. Call or text and we will give you a real date rather than a guess.
Yes. Jimmy Garces Jr. is on the job, not just at the sales call. That is also why we can handle several trades on one project instead of handing you off between companies.
The Oklahoma City metro plus about an hour's drive in any direction: Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Norman, Yukon, Mustang, Midwest City, Del City, Bethany, Warr Acres and the smaller towns around them. If you are past that ring, call or text anyway. A job can still be worth the drive.
Fair question, and it is the one we would ask too. Shekinah Renovations is a newer company, but Jimmy is not new to the trade. He started at fourteen, learned it from his stepdad, and has been doing this work ever since. Every photo and video on this site is his own work around the metro, not stock, and we are glad to put you in touch with people we have worked for. He is also the one who shows up for the estimate and the one on site while the work happens.
Oklahoma does not issue a general contractor or remodeler license, so for most of what we do there is no state license to hold. For the trades the Construction Industries Board does license, Jimmy has applications in progress and we will tell you that plainly rather than imply otherwise. Where a job requires a licensed plumber, electrician, or registered roofer, we bring in the right trade partner for that portion. Ask about your specific job and you will get a straight answer.
Usually the same day. Call or text (405) 532-3348 and it reaches Jimmy directly. If he is on a job site with his hands full he will get back to you as soon as he is off it. Most people call two or three contractors and hire whoever actually answers, so we try to be that one.
